Charge -- About 31 grains of cordite, in 60 small strands. Bullet -- compound, consisting of a core containing 98 per cent. lead and 2 per cent. antimony, in an envelope of 80 per cent. copper and 20 per cent. nickel.
Case -- Of brass, solid drawn, 70 per cent. copper and 30 per cent. zinc. Wad -- A glazed cardboard disc is placed on top of the charge. Weight -- Of bullet, 215 grains

Charge -- About 38 grains of tubular M.D. cordite, in about 40 small tubes. Bullet -- compound, consisting of a core in two parts -- the front portion being an alloy of aluminum 90 per cent., Zinc 10 per cent., or pure aluminum, and the rear portion being an alloy of 98 per cent., lead, 2 per cent. antimony, in an envelope of 80- per cent. Copper and 20 per cent. nickel.
